The Bound Brook Recreation Department is dedicated to providing a wide range of safe, fun and engaging recreational programs for residents of all ages. Throughout the year, our department offers youth sports programs, youth non-sports programs, active adult (55+) programs, special events and more! Through these programs, we are able to achieve our goal; to create a safe, warm and welcoming environment for Bound Brook residents to come together as a community.

Please note, registration for the current season typically opens up to two months in advance of the program start date.

FAQs
How do I register for BBREC programs?
CommunityPassTo register for programs and events, you must make a CommunityPass account.
CommunityPass is your gateway to learning all about new and upcoming programs being offered by Bound Brook Recreation! We suggest that ALL residents make an account and opt in for emails to stay up-to-date with all of our programming, even if you aren’t ready to register for a program just yet.
What is your refund policy?
- All programs cancelled by the Recreation Department will receive a full refund.
- Refund requests received FOUR weeks in advance of the program start date will be processed in full - less a $25 administration fee.
- Refund requests received less than four weeks in advance will not be processed.
- No refunds will be processed for programs costing $25 or less.
- No refunds for weather cancellations.
Can I rent your facilities?
Interested in renting one of our facilities? Make a request HERE!
Please note that our facilities are available for use BY PERMIT ONLY. Facility requests must be processed using Community. Payment can be made online using a credit card or in person using cash or check. In person payments can be brought to the Borough Hall.

Do you have a summer camp?
Yes! We offer a FULL-DAY Summer Camp each summer!

Does BBREC offer programs for older adults (55+)?
Yes! Bound Brook Recreation is proud to offer a growing Active Adults (55+) health and wellness program!
Our current fitness class offerings:

- Zumba Gold w/ Joannie G - Thursdays

Does Bound Brook have a community pool?
Yes! The Borough of Bound Brook unveiled the newly renovated Arthur F. Hetherington Pool, located in Codrington Park, in the Summer of 2025. The pool offers a zero-depth entry, aquatic playground, 14-foot water slide and a 12-foot diving well!

Family Membership: $300/$425
Individual (19-61): $125/$175
Child (2-18): $75/$125
Senior (62+): $50/$80

Do you offer programs for children and adults with physical and/or intellectual disabilties?
Bound Brook Recreation is proud to partner with Somerset County Park Commission’s Therapeutic Recreation department to offer year-round recreational opportunities for individuals 15+ with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Does BBREC have special events throughout the year?
Yes! We are proud to run many special events for the community, including an annual Easter Egg Hunt, Memorial Day Parade, Community Day and Holiday Tree Lighting!
