The Department of Public Works, led by the Superintendent of Public Works under the supervision of the Borough Administrator, is responsible for maintaining the Borough’s infrastructure and essential public services. Working closely with department staff and consulting with the Borough Engineer as needed, the Superintendent oversees the construction, repair, and upkeep of streets, culverts, and drainage systems, as well as road resurfacing and snow and ice removal. The department installs and maintains traffic signs and pavement markings, operates and repairs the Borough’s storm sewer systems and related facilities, and manages the collection and disposal of refuse, yard waste, bulk items, and other solid waste.
