RESIDENT GUIDELINES FOR TRASH REMOVAL


HOUSEHOLD GARBAGE

Trash stickers are to be applied to each 25 pound container of garbage.  The container is not to exceed 50 gallon capacity with two handles and a lid. If the garbage is placed in bags, a sticker must be affixed.  The sticker is to be placed in a visible location. Trash will not be picked up without a sticker.

Your garbage is to be placed curbside no earlier than 6:00 PM on the evening before your scheduled pick up.  Garbage pick up begins at 5:00 AM on scheduled day.

RECYCLING SCHEDULE(County Recycling – 732-469-3363)

Pick up at curbside in designated containers on a schedule posted by Somerset County.

Dispose of Scrap Metal and Consumer Electronics the 1st Saturday of each month between 8 AM and 2 PM at the Somerset County Recycling Center at 40 Polhemus Lane in Bridgewater.

Metal Items will be picked up on the third Friday of every month.  Call Borough Hall to schedule a pick-up.  Freon must be removed from refrigerators, air conditioners, freezers etc. and a certificate of removal from a licensed contractor affixed to the item before it can be collected.

ITEMS WHICH DO NOT REQUIRE STICKERS

Yard debris (small twigs, clippings, weeds, flowers etc) will  be collected on regular trash day. Put items in a trash can.

Brush is to be tied and bundled in six foot lengths not to exceed 25 pounds. Brush will be picked up on the 2nd Friday of the month.  Residents must call Borough one week prior to collection day to schedule a pickup.

Leaves will be collected October through December 17 and are to be placed in recyclable paper leaf bags.  Leaf collection will be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  After December 17th, leaves may be taken to Natures Choice in Bridgewater.
