Welcome to Bound Brook! We are a truly great small town. We have a strong sense of community, neighborhood values, and a history like no other town in the area.
Our history of greatness as the oldest community is unmatched in Somerset County. A major battle during the American Revolutionary was fought right here on our soil. We held a significant place as an economic center during the industrial revolution. The advent of rail transportation signaled our place as a major commercial hub at the crossroads of both major rail lines and highways. Bound Brook has the building blocks to make it an even better community – with you in it.
Bound Brook has been tested many times in its history, but the strength of our character has been revealed time and time again. The spirit of Bound Brook can be found in the diversity of our residents and businesses, who in both good and bad times, demonstrate an enormous outpouring of support and unwavering spirit that personifies Bound Brook.
We are a pedestrian-friendly, walkable community with many Colonial, Victorian, Queen Anne, Craftsman, Bungalow, Cape Cod homes, old growth trees and recreational parks and facilities. We have an historic downtown and Main Street, complete with a Vaudeville-era theatre, diverse ethnic restaurants and specialty stores. Our neighbors help their neighbors and our synagogue and churches and residents open their doors far and wide to help other residents, volunteers by the hundreds, all pitching in to make a difference and make Bound Brook a community that you want to keep.
